Operations Internship – Summer 2008
Designed to give the student exposure to real sports operations management outside the classroom, this operations department internship includes working with IndyCar Series, NASCAR and various sanctioning bodies. You will be assisting in track operations including event preparation and logistics, venue rental, track, equipment and grounds maintenance along with many other related duties. This is a 500-hour for-credit internship, a portion paid. April 1 to August 31, 2008. Approx. 20-25 hours per week, except at least 40-hour weeks for main events the weeks of May 27 – June 2, June 16-22 and August 18-25. With our expanded race schedule and increased attendance we want to add more support to our Race Event Volunteer Staff.
If you are a race enthusiast and would like to be part of The Milwaukee Mile Race Team we would like to talk to you. Although most of the positions are unpaid, we provide uniforms, meals and complimentary tickets to all volunteers.
Openings are available in the following groups:
RACE SECURITY (paid position)
EVENT SERVICES (outgoing, pleasant personalities required)
SAFETY TEAM (Firefighting, E.M.T or Safety experience helpful)

INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES The Milwaukee Mile is accepting resumes from ambitious individuals to intern in our fast-paced public relations, track operations, and sales/ sponsorship departments. Milwaukee Mile internships are a great way to gain invaluable experience in the field of professional auto racing. To qualify you must currently be enrolled in college and be wiling to work 10-20 hours per week. Please note that you may work during track events and that these events take place on weekends.
