Gilbert Brown

Gilbert Brown had an impressive 10-year career as a defensive lineman for the Green Bay Packers. Now the self-admitting car nut has become very involved with The Milwaukee Mile as a shareholder and as the director of new business development for the historic speedway.

Brown became involved with The Milwaukee Mile after visiting the track as a guest and honorary race official in 2005. In December of that year, Brown was announced with other investors in Milwaukee Mile Marketing, the newly-formed promoter group of The Mile beginning in January, 2006. Throughout his NFL career, Brown he was known as “the grave digger” for his popular movements following quarterback sacks. Brown brings that same tenacity and outgoing personality to The Milwaukee Mile, which has received a great deal of exposure due to Brown’s involvement with the world’s oldest operating speedway.

Brown also climbed behind the wheel of a vintage stock car in ‘06, for his own enjoyment and to bring attention to The Mile and it’s annual “Drive The Mile” May event. His relationship with NFL players and their participation in activities on Milwaukee Mile race weekends, including Brown’s Packers line mate Santana Dotson, has also made an impact.

Through his likable personality and notoriety earned as a Super Bowl-winning athlete, he has begun in earnest to have a positive influence on kids through his Gilbert Brown Foundation and community initiatives, which will be shared with you on this web page.

Gilbert Brown Makes His Mark In The Auto Racing World

by Jeff Fedotin, Packers.com

Since the age of nine, former Green Bay Packers defensive tackle Gilbert Brown worked on the pit crew of his father's drag racing team. During these father-son bonding sessions, Gilbert learned the ins-and-outs of car maintenance from his father -- an assembly line worker at a Detroit, Mich. auto plant -- and a lifetime of adoration for automobiles.
